 It took me quite a few hours, way more than I would have liked, but hey! rendering is my weakness, that's why I'm here, in order to improve :)

At first, I tried out the workflow demonstrated in class, and it was a BIG MESS!! I wasn't able to go from unsaturated to saturated colours... so in the end I decided to use the workflow that I just learned in Digital Painting with Nino this week, it felt more intuitive and confortable. Both techniques use the same core idea though: focus on big shapes and values, slowly adding details.

Anyway, this is how it turned out: definitely not the best, and I still struggle with the eyes, but I still feel like I've improved a bit in rendering over this week.

 Had some trouble with the colors and making it not too muddy. The transition from desaturated colors to saturated colors is something I'm still trying to get a handle on.

 Hey Zach, I'm sending this quite early mostly because of some questions I have. I spent a lot of time into this but I don't know how to make the end result look even more realistic like the picture( The ref is in your post for Week 3, I didn't put it because the png is already big).I don't know if it is good to end the piece here, but I really don't know what to do next and its driving me crazy. Is it good to stop here? If not is there an area I should put more effort to? Can't wait for your feedback.

 This is as far as I could go this week: the Covid Vaccine hit harder than expected :(

I never did this up until now, but blocking in the big shapes turned out to be real useful!

However, you can see that I mess up big time at step 4 (1st rendering pass)... Although the skin and shirt are pretty ok, I can't seem to make the hair and face features right. Is it possible to cover the hair rendering one of these days? Like a demo or something? Thanks :)
